So... the tree is leaning against the wall, in a bucket of various bottles and cans because, like an idiot, I thought that it was no big deal that this tree didn't come with its stand.  I thought I could just get one at Target.  Well, you can't buy stand-alone stands for fake trees ANYWHERE... so we lost 2 feet in height and it won't stand up straight on its own.  :(

Dakota bought and grew Sadie some special "for cats" grass.  She loves.

Finally getting around to mending the split seams on this ancient comforter that Sadie likes.

And she says, "Thanks... that was a nice nap."

cheap new shoes.  I love Target.  You can see that they were a little painful to start with, but I think they've stretched out and aren't rubbing the same spot anymore.  :)  yay.

Party mix is one of my most favorite people-foods... I have had to have Dakota hide it in the house so I wouldn't keep eating it before!  Therefore, Party Mix treats for cats seemed like a great idea.  The little pieces are even shaped like the chex cereal and pretzels in people party mix!  Cats approve.

cookie monster: busted!

To be totally fair, this was actually taken on Saturday night.  But I took it spontaneously while uploading my cider picture... and so I decided I would just pretend that it happened on Sunday.  Because it very well might happen again tomorrow!  :)  I'm changing to the date for this post, though, so that it will show up as Sunday's post.

Typing in red for the hot apple cider that is lovely on a quiet Saturday evening.  Excuse the everyday mess on my desk, lol.

This fellow's tag says he's a "husky," but if you didn't see that, you might think he was a wolf, as in part of the Wolfpack, right!?  And he is wearing a red sweater.  And he could also be a Christmas decoration.  He will definitely be joining in OUR Christmas celebration this year! :)

Caffeine in moderation, today

After a serious overload of caffeine yesterday (beware of Trader Joe's "Joe" coffee), I decided to play it safe with my usual 1 1/2 cups of Folgers.  No caffeine OD today, thank goodness. :)

I think I would like to have a red and silver "color theme" for Christmas this year.  Thoughts?

Dakota is playing with Ben at his after-baptism party.  His little girlfriend, Keelie, is on his left.  She loved playing with her Da Dakota for as long as he could stand it. 

 

I guess I will have to be SURE to wash the placemats before the next dinner party!  Sadie has been sleeping on them for weeks now.  Heh.

Halfway through reading New Moon and feeling like I can get through another huge chunk of it thanks to my accidental 2 hour nap this evening.  heh.

So here I am in Blogville yet again.  I promise to TRY not to lose steam this time.  Instead of trying to chronicle all the nuances of life, I will aim to post one picture for every day for the next year.  Not necessarily everyday (have to leave some room to procrastinate and play catch-up!).

This is one of my birthday cards (from Dakota), with an *orange* cat on the front.  You can see a glimpse of an apple box behind it... I also got a new iPhone (also from Dakota!)!  So excited because it is SO FAST.
